The Real Deal began in 2004 with a deep fascination for electric guitars. Discovering eBay opened the door to vintage instruments, while the early guitar forums and auctions became places to learn, ask questions and develop a taste for the instruments that would shape the collection.

But the most valuable lessons came from the guitars themselves: holding them, playing them and looking closely at the details. Conversations with established vintage guitar experts, countless trips and encounters with fellow collectors gradually built the knowledge behind The Real Deal today.

Based in Paris, with connections across Europe and beyond, the collector behind The Real Deal is now recognised as one of the world’s leading collectors of vintage left-handed guitars and original case candy. That particular passion sits within a wider expertise in vintage electric guitars, their history and the details that make each instrument special.

Despite the name, The Real Deal Guitar Shop remains a private collection first. Most instruments are kept, enjoyed and studied; occasionally, a few guitars or pieces of case candy are offered for sale to make room for the next discovery.
